Parallel Perspectives
Dear Comrades #2

1. May 2008
Dear Comrades,
This is my spot to politically vent a little—ok, a lot—as well as
a section to post letters from other socialist individuals & organizations.
The opinions I express here do not represent the views of other people
associated with Parallel Perspectives.
It
is clear that Arabs have been lured into self-destruction by Islam & its
clerics—but perhaps even worse—the poor have been utterly abandoned &
betrayed by the Capitalist Arab Oligarchy. All of this is compounded by
Abrahamic religion in Israel & the ascendancy of a monumentally greedy
& morally corrupt New Rome/Washington, USA. The Oligarchs know that accord
with the U.S. is essential for profits as well as keeping the people in a
continual state of defeatism & division.
The increasingly desperate global food & oil situation is beginning to worry many capitalists. It’s not like they give a damn about the plight of the homeless poor or the working poor; but the Oligarchs ARE afraid. TIME magazine—as in TIME/WARNER/CNN, that monopoly of capitalist disinformation—came out with an article expressing fear that continuing food shortages may determine international regime change in the near future.
The article was quick, however, to state that “hardly anyone” believed in Marxism anymore!
Wishful thinking aside, preventing a Marxist political revival is the primary concern of the Oligarchs worldwide.
Capitalists
face a real dilemma: They no longer require a surplus population in order to
assure an excess labour pool—so there’s no reason to feed them; and yet the
spectre of chronic mass starvation
around the world scares them as well. In a sense, their fear originates from
the consequences of past success. The labour union bureaucracy has served its
purpose, the working class in most countries (particularly the U.S.) have been
rendered politically impotent through staggering sellouts &
manipulation—but thereby increasing unemployed mouths to feed. Technology could
free humanity from drudgery, but under capitalist control is used to replace
human labor with no benefit at all to the people it replaces. The absolutely
essential promotion of free birth control on demand has been obstructed at
every turn by that favorite weapon of the Oligarchy—religion.
So this is the Capitalist Dilemma: In its present state of decay the capitalist system requires an ever-growing consumer base—and this requires people employed & people fed.
Division within the working class along racial, ethnic & religious lines can only benefit the Oligarchs & State Capitalist Bureaucracy.
Marx foresaw all these things quite clearly & so he was a lot more “on the ball”
& relevant today than capitalists would like us to believe.

Dear Comrades,
Does anyone within the vision of these words think American Capitalists are really
concerned with solving the extreme Environmental Crisis they & their multinational
cohorts were instrumental in creating? As soon as it became apparent that the
United States was acting like the Global Village Idiot as far as solar warming was
concerned, American Corporations couldn’t get on the PR band wagon fast enough,
with “Green” ad campaigns, many of them cynically using children as paid pitch men.
Unbelievable…but only to be expected from the biggest energy gluttons on the planet.
Hiding behind the innocence of children is just the latest in a history of abuse & outrage
(including the butchering of thousands Iraqi children) promoted by the Oligarchs of the
Anglo-American Axis.
Global Capitalism got us into this mess, but it cannot & will not get us out.

Dear Comrades,
There was a strange silence this weekend even for the rural place where I live:
It was the silence attributed to an almost total lack of vehicles on the road. Of
course the source of this silence was directly caused by the soaring fuel costs. In
my home county it is averaging $4.50 a gallon.
I have to admit that for a few moments I thought, Well, maybe this is what it’ll
take to force people to drastically alter their dependency on cars—one, but
only one, of the changes humans must make in order to reverse global
warming.
Then almost immediately I also realized that in this rural area there was little
to no transportation alternative for the primarily working class & migrant
workers who live here. There are also farmers & vineyard managers who
will pass on their increased fuel costs to consumers.
The new “Green” television network was also inaugurated this weekend.
This network is backed by the fabulously wealthy LA artistic elite &
is part of the capitalist plan to co-op the legitimate
environmentalist movement.
Capitalists, no matter how “liberal” they are, will never solve a problem
that is negatively affecting the working class & the poor—and the entire
global population.
PS. I just learned about the wave of fuel protests in Europe—way to go
overseas comrades! Maybe it will inspire others in the U.S. to do
likewise.
