A CELTIC TALE The Legend of Deirdre is an outstanding contemporary Celtic inspired symphony. Based on the original Gaelic story adapted by John Stuart Dick, the music is composed and performed by Mychael Danna and Jeff Dana and ensemble players.

The name Deirdre means "Woman of Sorrow" and refers to a traditional noble woman caught between war and civil strife. The CD includes the complete story in an attractive booklet.

This is "serious" music, but it also provides "easy listening" and a very plesant experience for people who like the Celtic sound and romantic imagery. CELTIC TALE is a cohesive creation. The synthesized sound of "The Druid" is appropriately "spooky" and mysterious. The beautiful "Lament" equisitely sung by Krysia Kocjan pushed my rating right over the top.
